Tatkhan was born in a family of shamans. He lost his father in the failed assult on stormwind keep in the first war. He was raised by his mother alone. But when the Scourge came, they killed tatkhans mother, and tatkhan had to flee. He settled down in orgrimmar and meet Zevrost. Zevrost is a warlock trainer and he offerd tatkhan to train him in the ways of shadow. Tatkhan was intressed, and he learn fast. When his training was done he wanted to join the horde watch so he could defend the horde against any danger.
